NEW PLASMA ENGINE HAS BEEN PATENTED BY EP2 RESEARCHERS

Within PROMETEO project, EP2 researchers have a new spatial plasma-fueled engine capable of satellite and spacecraft propulsion, with magnetic field geometry and configuration that would minimize losses on walls and their erosion, thereby resolving issues of efficiency, durability, and operating restrictions of engines that are currently in orbit.

Thus, this new engine opens up an entirely new dimension in space transportation, since it will allow less expensive, more efficient, and longer space missions.

WE ARE HIRING!

If you are interested in the PROMETEO’s research lines, have an University Degree (BSc or MSc) with an excellent academic record and have a strong background in field such as plasma physics, propulsion, electronics and CAD design and/or experimental work in a laboratory, we have published a job offer for a “Personal Investigador de Apoyo”.

As a pre-doc researcher you will be part of the team in charge of the development of a hybrid code for magnetized plasma thruster discharges.

Send us to EP2 in a single PDF:

  • CV (max. 6 pages) and BSc and MSc academic records
  • A motivation letter describing experience, interests, and future goals (max. 1 page)
  • At least 2 professional or academic references

WE AWAIT YOUR APPLICATION!
